Public Golf Courses
I really enjoyed playing The Refuge. Excellent practice facilities are convenient to the clubhouse and first tee. The layout is challenging but rewards the golfer when makes a good golf shot. I really like courses that do not have holes that are gimmicky and The Refuge does not have any holes that fit that description. I will be coming back and bringing my friends who appreciate an excellent course.
As I was traveling north from Cottage Grove to your course, I had an excitement to deep down in my heart thinking about playing the Refuge. Just the name ¿The Refuge¿ it sounded really woodsy. And I must say that after playing ¿The Refuge¿ it lived up to its name! As the current MPGA mid-am state champion I have played all the great courses in the 5 state area. The Refuge definitely compares with Deacon¿s Lodge in Brainerd. Although it doesn¿t have the distance that Deacon¿s Lodge has it definitely has the same feel. There are many natural hazards, beautiful fairways and greens, with a unique challenging track. I definitely will be back, and all my friends will be with me. One thing, I might suggest. More signs from hwy 65. I map quested it. And it brought me right to the course. But to the average golfer he might need a little help. The Refuge is a great coarse, great customer service, great layout. Thank you.
